OPPO has been releasing several different lineups of smartphones over the years, ranging from their F-series and R-series. Unfortunately for those who might be a fan of the R-series, it seems that OPPO could be done with that lineup as hinted at by OPPO’s Vice President Shen Piren who suggested that we might not be seeing a new R-series smartphone this year.

According to Shen who made a post on Weibo, he stated that the company would not be releasing the R19 smartphone this year, which was expected by many to be the successor to last year’s handset. While Shen does not confirm if the R-series is dead, the skipping of the launch of the handset has led to speculation that OPPO could be done with the R-series as apparently, the company might not have any use for them.

Instead, OPPO is expected to continue releasing other handsets part of the Find series, F-series, K-series, and A-series of phones. In fact, the company will be launching a new smartphone soon in the form of the OPPO F11 Pro in which we have seen leaks and teasers of it. The handset will most likely be launched at MWC 2019, so do check back with us then if you’d like to learn more about it.
