Tall 18:9 aspect ratio displays have become quite common ever since the industry as a whole shifted to the whole notched display style. Some companies have even stretched it to 18.5:9 and 19:9 aspect ratios. Sony is looking to outdo them all with an even taller 21:9 ratio display for the upcoming Xperia XA3.

Some press renders of the upcoming Sony handset have been leaked online which show a significantly taller notchless 21:9 aspect ratio display. It’s notchless because Sony hasn’t opted for a notch or a punch hole. It has stuck with the old school design of having a camera in the top bezel.

The display specifics remain unknown but a report suggests that the XA3 might have a 5.9 inch display with 2560×1080 pixel resolution. It also said to feature a 23 megapixel + 8 megapixel dual camera system at the back with a dual LED flash. There’s a USB Type-C port at the bottom with two speaker openings. As we’ve seen on many Sony smartphones, the fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side.

This handset may feature a Snapdragon 660 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage in addition to a 3,500mAh battery. It won’t be a flagship killer by any stretch of the imagination but I imagine watching movies on it will be quite the experience. Sony is expected to unveil this smartphone at MWC 2019 in the last week of this month.
