Fast charging is a feature that we’re starting to see on more phones these days, and the good news is that it looks like Huawei will be including the feature in its upcoming Huawei P30 Pro handset. In a report from MySmartPrice, China’s certification agency TENAA has revealed some of the specs of the upcoming handset, and fast charging is one of them.

According to the listing, the P30 Pro is expected to feature 40W fast charging, while the P30 will support 22.5W fast charging, slightly slower but still pretty decent nonetheless. Note that 40W fast charging isn’t exactly new as the Mate 20 Pro from 2018 was launched with 40W fast charging as well.

This means that Huawei will not be bumping up the speed of the charging feature to bring it in line with some of its competition, namely Oppo whose SuperVOOC offers 50W fast charging. However it is faster than others such as OnePlus whose fast charging speeds are at 30W, so it’s somewhere in between.

In any case the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are expected to be officially announced on the 26th of March at the company’s own event that will be held in Paris, so check back with us then for the details.
