Google is working with Android OEMs to expand the beta of its upcoming Android release to even more devices. The company did something similar last year as well for Android P so it’s no surprise that it’s doing the same thing for Android Q as well. Android Q isn’t due to arrive for at least a few months.

You no longer need one of Google’s own Pixel smartphones to take part in the Android beta program. Google has worked with 12 device manufacturers to bring support for Android Q beta 3 to a total of 21 smartphones.

As you’d expect, all 8 Pixel phones are included in this list, the number includes the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL which were announced today. The other handsets are from manufacturers like Huawei, ASUS, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Sony, LG, Essential, Oppo, and more. It’s pertinent to mention here that Samsung is not on this list.

The specific phone models from these manufacturers have not yet been confirmed but you can expect that they will be limited to some of their more recent models. This information should be available on the Android Q beta program website in the near future. Google didn’t say today when it’s going to release Android Q to the public.
