If you’ve enjoyed the Detective Pikachu game on the Nintendo 3DS handheld console, then you might be interested to learn that The Pokemon Company has since announced that they will be released a new follow-up game that will be launching on the Nintendo Switch. Details are scarce at the moment, but it is expected to offer up some kind of conclusion to the story of the first game.

According to the company, “Can’t wait to keep sleuthing with [Detective Pikachu]? Plans are under way to bring this crime-solving Pikachu to Nintendo Switch! The details of this game are still a mystery…so keep checking back here for more clues.” The announcement of the new Detective Pikachu game is following on the heels of the new Pokemon Sleep game and also the new Pokemon Home cloud service.

That being said, the decision to bring Detective Pikachu onto the Switch makes sense. Thanks to games like Pokemon GO, it has reignited interest in the Pokemon franchise, although we doubt that it was ever in danger of dropping off the map. The game managed to create a ton of new fans, plus the success of the Detective Pikachu movie will also no doubt make a lot of gamers curious about the game, especially if they have never played it before.
