Marvel fans will be interested in finding out that the studio does plan on eventually releasing the entire back catalog of Marvel Cinematic Universe films in 4K resolution. This was confirmed by Captain Marvel producers Victoria Alonso and Jonathan Schwartz during a recent interview. The films will be remastered in 4K as released over time.

“We are going to remaster all of our films in 4K. We’re in the process of doing that, so it’s all happening,” Alonso said in an interview with Collider. Marvel is planning to release the entire back catalog of Marvel Cinematic Universe films in 4K eventually.

There are only a few MCU films available in 4K currently so fans will definitely appreciate once the entire catalog is made available in 4K. However, all of the remastered titles won’t be available at the same time so there will be a bit of waiting involved.

4K Blu-ray discs have also been released for several Marvel Studios movies by Disney but there are still some notable exceptions. These include the Iron Man trilogy, Thor and Thor: The Dark World. They’re slated for 4K Blu-ray release in the next few months. Other major titles that are missing include Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Ant-Man.
