The other day thanks to what looked like an officially-licensed Nintendo Switch carrying case bearing the Overwatch logo being spotted on Amazon, it led to speculation that Overwatch for the Nintendo Switch could soon be announced. If the idea of playing Overwatch on the Switch appeals to you, you’re in luck.

This is because in an announcement made by Blizzard and Nintendo, it looks like the Overwatch Legendary Edition will be making its way onto the Switch console. Despite its name, this is essentially Overwatch for the Switch, but there will be some changes made to the gameplay where it will take advantage of the gyroscopes built into the console.

According to Blizzard, “In addition, Nintendo Switch gamers have the option to take control of their heroes in a whole-new way using the console’s built-in gyroscopic motion controls, which let players tilt their console to line up the perfect shot as McCree, pilot D.Va through the air, or quickly turn to deflect incoming projectiles as Genji.”

The game will also include all the content updates and gameplay enhancements that Blizzard has made to it since it launched three years ago, so gamers will essentially be caught up when they play it. It will be priced at $40 and will come with 15 bonus skins. It will also include a three-month Nintendo Switch Online membership (which will automatically renew at the end of it), but there was no mention if there would be support for cross-platform play.
