Nowadays, people rely on IoT products almost everywhere. It starts with cleaning your clothes to many type of smart home solutions. There is a tech for everything (almost).
But, what about a trashcan which can show itself out to be cleaned?
Fret not, we are not baiting you to something shady here – instead, a thing like that really exists.
A smart home company Rezzi came up with its first product as – SmartCan. A trash can which can automatically go out to prep itself for cleaning without needing a human to interact with it.
Normally, if your trash can needs to be cleaned, you had to drag it outside for the cleaners to do their job. Now, you can take rest and let the trash can manage itself.
It will also come in handy when you are not at home. All you have to do is pair your smartphone with the device and set a date & the take-out location.
And, the trashcan will take itself out in regular intervals to the take-out location on that date. Unfortunately, there is no concrete details on how the app or the motorized trashcan works technically.
But, we do know that it is backed by Protolabs’ Cool Idea Award manufacturing grant to help with the research and development.
The details on how the app works (and the features offered) will be a crucial factor to decide whether the SmartCan is ‘smart’ or not.
There is also no official word on the availability and the price – so we will have to wait for further details in order to get our hands on the smart trashcan.
