Recently, LG announced that they will be sitting out on MWC 2020 due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak. LG is not alone in this as NVIDIA has also announced that they too will be skipping out on the event for pretty much the same reasons.

According to NVIDIA, “Given public health risks around the coronavirus, ensuring the safety of our colleagues, partners and customers is our highest concern. MWC Barcelona is one of the world’s most important technology conferences. We’ve been looking forward to sharing our work in AI, 5G and vRAN with the industry. We regret not attending, but believe this is the right decision.”

Unlike LG, NVIDIA’s presence at MWC will be less consumer focused. However, if you’re more of a behind-the-scenes person and want to see what the company could be bringing to the table in terms of mobile tech, it looks like you are going to be disappointed. LG and NVIDIA are also not going to be the only companies that will not be attending the event.

ZTE had also previously stated that they too will not be attending MWC 2020, along with other companies such as Sony and Amazon. We imagine that these companies will most likely host their own events where they will announce whatever it is that they were planning for the event.
