Right on schedule, it looks like Huawei has since officially announced their second flagship smartphone of the year that comes in the form of the Huawei Mate 40 series. This consists of three handsets that customers can choose from – the Huawei Mate 40, the Mate 40 Pro, and the Mate 40 Pro+.

Under the hood, the Huawei Mate 40 series will all be powered by Huawei’s new Kirin 9000 series chipset that’s built on the 5nm process. As for their displays, the Mate 40 will sport a 6.5-inch display, while the Mate 40 Pro and Pro+ will come with slightly larger 6.76-inch 90Hz displays, although design wise, all the phones appear to look somewhat similar with its circular camera setup on the back.

Speaking of cameras, this is where the phones will slightly differ. With the Mate 40 Pro, the phone will come with a 50MP main camera, a 20MP ultrawide camera, and periscope zoom lens that will feature 5x optical zoom. The Mate 40 Pro+, on the other hand, features a 50MP main camera, a 20MP ultrawide camera, an 8MP periscope camera with 10x zoom, and a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom. As for the Mate 40, the phone packs a 50MP main camera, 16MP ultrawide, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

As for the rest of the specs, the Mate 40 will feature 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 4,200mAh battery. The Mate 40 Pro lineup will come with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and slightly larger 4,400mAh battery.

If the new Huawei Mate 40 series is of interest to you, the Mate 40 is priced at €899, while the Mate 40 Pro will cost €1,199, while the Mate 40 Pro+ will retail for €1,399.
