MacBook Pro, MacBook Air Will Be The First To Get Apple Silicon Chips

Apple has recently confirmed that they will be hosting an event on the 10th of November where it is largely expected that they will unveil the first of their Apple Silicon Mac computers. However, there is the question of which computers will be the first to take advantage of the new hardware, but now we might have an idea.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman and Debby Wu have revealed that the MacBook Pro and MacBook Airs will be the first to receive the new hardware. This will apply to both the 13-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros as well as the 13-inch MacBook Air, but oddly enough there is no mention of the rumored 12-inch MacBook that is expected to be revived with the new Apple Silicon chipset.

The new models will not sport new designs and will continue using the same design as the current lineup, but they are expected to be powered by a variant of the A14 chipset found in this year’s iPhones and iPads. It’s interesting that Apple is applying the Apple Silicon to the MacBook Pro as it is unclear how well the new chipsets will perform and if it will be up to scratch in terms of performance and comparison to the Intel-based MacBook Pros.

In any case, we should have more details next week, so if you’re thinking of buying a new MacBook Pro or Air, maybe you should wait to find out if the newer models might be worth it.
