Will.i.am Debuts A Futuristic Face Mask With HEPA Filters

Based on what we know about the coronavirus and the vaccines, there is a good chance that mask wearing could be something we’ll have to practice for the years to come. So much so that we’re starting to see companies come up with more environmentally-friendly solutions compared to the one-time use masks that are commonly used today.

Will.i.am is one of those people who are looking into such wearables, and he has teamed up with Honeywell to create the Xupermask. For those unfamiliar, Will.i.am is probably best known as the singer and member of the Black Eyed Peas music group, although he has tried his hand at the tech industry in the past with gadgets like headphones and smartwatches.

The Xupermask is a mask that comes with built-in 3-speed fans, a set of HEPA filters, and also headphones with active noise-cancelling. There is also a microphone,  LED “day glow lights”, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 7-hour battery life, all of which can be had for a very cool $E299 when it goes on sale later this year.

It sounds a bit outrageous but like we said, there are other companies who are looking into similar products. Razer, who debuted their smart mask at CES earlier this year, also recently announced that they have plans to move forward and make their mask a reality.
