iPad Mini 6 Users Reporting ‘Jelly Scrolling’ Display Issues

After years of what felt a bit like neglect, it seems that Apple’s iPad mini finally got the refresh it deserved at the company’s event a couple of weeks ago. The tablet has since started shipping out to eager customers, but some of them are finding out that the tablet has an issue with its display.

According to reports, users are experiencing a “jelly scrolling” effect where it seems that one part of the iPad mini’s display is refreshing faster compared to the other side. As a result, this creates a wobble down the middle of the screen, like how a jelly would jiggle if you were to shake it.

It seems that this might have affected more than just a few units because according to one 9to5Mac reader, they told the publication that when they took their iPad mini back to the Apple Store to get it replaced, they found that all the demo units on display had the same issue. This suggests that this isn’t a problem that’s limited to just a handful of unlucky customers.

The Verge’s Dieter Bohn is also reporting that his unit is affected by the same problem and has shared a video on Twitter demonstrating it. It is unclear if this is a hardware of software issue, but hopefully it is a software problem because it means that a software patch should be able to fix it.
