As some of you might have heard, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei left the company to form his own company called Nothing. The company’s first product was a pair of earbuds and many have been curious about what the company could launch next. If a report from 91mobiles is to be believed, it seems that a phone could be next on the list.

When Nothing was first revealed, Pei was kind of vague about what kind of products we might be able to expect from the company. To be honest, given his position as the co-founder of OnePlus, many were hoping a new phone could be in the works, and this report certainly gives us hope.

In a way it shouldn’t be surprising because like we said, Pei did help found OnePlus. However, there is also a recent announcement by Nothing in which they revealed that they have entered into a strategic partnership with Qualcomm. With Qualcomm making the majority of smartphone chipsets, it stands to believe that this report could be true.

Alternatively, since Qualcomm also makes chipsets for smartwatches, maybe they could be working on a wearable instead. Either way, this Nothing phone is said to be launching in early 2022 so we still have a fair amount of waiting to do.
