Custom mechanical keyboards can cost a lot of money, some in the several hundreds of dollars. However, if you don’t have that kind of money to spend or don’t want to spend that much, then you might be interested to learn that IOGear’s Kaliber Gaming brand has announced the Mechlite Nano keyboard.

Unlike the majority of mechanical keyboards out there, the Kaliber Gaming actually features wireless connectivity, which is great if you hate dealing with cables and want a cleaner setup. It is a 65% keyboard, which means that it does away with the function key row, the numpad, and some of the navigation keys.

However, it does have arrow keys and some navigation keys like page up and page down, so if that’s good enough for you, then this could be quite a compact setup. It comes with a set of PBT keycaps, and judging from the layout, it looks like it uses relatively standard keycaps so you should be able to customize it using aftermarket keycaps.

The keyboard will be using red linear box switches. There is even a rotary knob so you can use it to do things like adjust volume on the fly. The best part is that the Mechlite Nano is priced at $85, which compared to most custom mechanical keyboards is cheap. It is expected to be available in Q1 2022.
