If you’re taking a long drive on a highway, this is where cruise control really shines. For those unfamiliar with cruise control, it is basically a feature offered in some cars in which drivers can set a speed that they want the car to drive at and it will maintain that speed without any input from the driver.
Last time when cars were sold, they would come with a radio built into them and that was it. In the past customers would have to pay more to add a CD player, but these days a CD player is almost a given, but it looks like music streaming could be the way to go. So much so that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Volkswagen have partnered up with Apple […]
It seems that Alphabet’s Waymo is looking to build up a pretty sizable fleet of self-driving cars because in an announcement by carmaker Fiat Chrysler, both companies have reached a deal which will see Waymo buy “thousands” of Chrysler Pacifica minivans which presumably will be turned into self-driving vehicles.
If there is something we’re sure many old school car enthusiasts will lament is how complicated modern cars are getting, what with their computers and software, whereas back in the day it was pretty much purely mechanical. This is also why these days there are other factors involved in car recalls, such as faulty software which is what Fiat Chrysler is experiencing.
The cars used by Google to test their self-driving technology has been in use for a while now. Given that Google’s self-driving project has since been spun-out onto its own dubbed Waymo (still under the Alphabet umbrella), we guess it was time that the project got a brand new set of wheels as well.
Fiat Chrysler recently formed a partnership with Google to work on self-driving cars. The partnership will see Google’s self-driving car technology being baked into Fiat’s Pacifica minivans. New reports suggest that Fiat is now looking to team up with Uber on self-driving cars. The ride-hailing service is known to be working on similar technology, however, talks between the two companies appear to be in very early stages at this point […]
We had been hearing rumors for some time now that Google was looking to team up with a conventional car manufacturer to push its self-driving car technology further. It was confirmed recently that Google and Fiat Chrysler are teaming up to put the former’s technology in the latter’s Pacifica minivans, details were slim in the official announcement and now there’s some clarity from the CEO of Fiat.
It was first reported a few days ago that Google and Fiat Chrysler were talking about a potential partnership on self-driving cars. Another report claimed that the deal would see Google’s self-driving technology being baked into Fiat’s minivans. Turns out, that report was spot on, as Google has just confirmed that it’s expanding its self-driving car program by teaming up with Fiat Chrysler.
A few days ago it was reported that Google and Fiat Chrysler were involved in discussions over a potential partnership on self-driving cars. Another report has been published today on the matter and it’s claimed that the two companies are going to work together to put Google’s self-driving car technology inside minivans. If this is officially confirmed it will be the first formal partnership that Google inks with an established […]
A new report claims that Google is in “late stage talks” with Fiat Chrysler for a potential partnership on its self-driving car project. The report comes merely a day after one of the company’s X division executives said that the self-driving car project is close to graduating from Google’s moonshot division. It’s said that Google and Fiat Chrysler might agree to a technical partnership, the companies obviously haven’t confirmed anything […]
The diesel emissions scandal is far from over for Volkswagen but the auto group might have learned a valuable lesson: never again will it try to deceive customers and regulatory bodies in this manner again. The possibility exists that other car manufacturers might have gone down the same road and even though nothing has been confirmed as yet, it appears that Fiat is being investigated for cheating on diesel emissions […]
Fiat Chrysler has confirmed that it has recalled over 1.1 million cars because their owners were facing issues with the electronic shift level found in older Dodge Charger, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300 models. Chrysler has said that due to this issue drivers might draw erroneous conclusions about the status of their vehicles which is why it’s necessary to recall affected models.
Fiat Chrysler has issued a recall for more than half a million SUVs for fire risks, the problems are related to a low pressure rose and wiring of the vanity mirror. The recall has been issued at a time when the company’s safety efforts are being scrutinized by regulators in the United States. It was only earlier this month that Fiat Chrysler agreed to pay $70 million in fines for […]
Does FCA US LLC sound familiar to you? If it does not, perhaps just calling the company “Fiat” might ring a bell. That is certainly much better, isn’t it? Having said that, we have heard about how hackers have managed to commandeer a Jeep remotely, and it seems that Fiat (which owns Chrysler) is conducting a voluntary safety recall of approximately 1.4 million vehicles to update the software within. These […]
