Serious gamers need high-end equipment, be it headphones, mouse pads, keyboards or a mouse. For long gaming sessions it’s essential to have a good mouse particularly if they want to stay on top of their game. Mad Catz has unveiled a new mouse which is likely to grab gamers’ attention.

There’s a software that needs to be installed first on the computer before the user can truly tap into the RAT 7’s power. A simple program pops up after the software and drivers have been installed. By going to the Settings page the user can choose between four set DPI levels, ranging from 800, 1600, 3200 and full power 5600. On the programming page users can set up the five programmable buttons according to their preferences.

There’s a Precision Aim button on the thumb side when when held down halves the DPI sensitivity thus simplifying precision aiming in fast-twitch games. RAT 7 goes back to the previously configured DPI setting when the button is released.

Its possible to customize the mouse’s height, weight, length, width and texture in a variety of ways. Replaceable elements of the mouse include three different grips, slick black, elevated slick black and grippy rubber. The solid steel chassis makes it feel very solid without adding too much weight. It does come with additional weights when can be slotted in the back.

If any one of the Transformer would want to take the shape of a computer mouse, it’d probably look like the Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 7 Gaming Mouse, which features enough customization options to last you a lifetime. Priced at $99.
