HTC places Android tablet orders with Pegatron

Here’s the latest word on the grapevine – HTC has placed a bunch of its Android tablet devices with Pegatron, where HTC is targeting to jostle its way to the top four position where global notebook manufacturers are concerned. We aren’t fully convinced that this is a tablet just yet, since there is also a possibility of it being a smartbook. Among the specifications thrown into the mix would be a 1280 x 720 resolution widescreen display, a 32GB SSD, 2GB RAM and Tegra 2, with Android Market support to boot. Well, the rumored price point of $790 unsubsidized might be a wee bit steep for most people, so hopefully the final price point would be more favorable to your bank account.
