Sony unleashes Monster Hunter Portable 3 special edition PSP

Monster Hunter Portable has been one of the bigger hits on the Sony PSP handheld console, so it is no surprise to see a third iteration of the title heading towards the PSP. Well, to coincide with the game’s upcoming release, Sony decided to take the opportunity and earn more money by announcing a special edition PSP that will feature art from the game on the outside, coming in black and gold shades. Out in Japan first on December 1st this year, it will make it out in time for the mad Christmas rush. Unlike external changes to its decals or design, this special edition takes a different route by offering updated hardware in the form of an improved analog stick that is meant for more comfortable extended Monster Hunter sessions. Not only that, you will also find the now-discontinued Extended Life Battery in this console, adding a bulge with the upside of more hours of portable gaming. Japanese pre-orders can be placed from today onwards, while those living Stateside can always consider a grey import.
