Mario fans out there will be drooling as Nintendo will be releasing a bright red version of its Wii gaming console in conjunction with the plumber’s 25th birthday. The bundle will include the Wii, along with the new Wii Remote Plus peripheral that combines the functionality of a Wiimote with the MotionPlus add-on (which will be going on sale individually when this bundle is released). Expect to pay 20,000 Yen ($240) for this when it’s released in Japan on November 11th. Aside from the fancy console, there will be a special edition of Super Mario Bros. pre-installed on the system, a version which will have the game’s trademark gold coin bricks modified to indicate “25” on the front. We probably won’t see this stateside anytime soon, but if you’re planning on going to Japan, perhaps you’d want to keep an eye out for this.
