Nintendo has a stable of classic franchises that are almost always guaranteed to do well whenever they launch. This is why it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that half of Nintendo Switch owners own a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and/or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
We know that Nintendo is very interested in creating games for mobile, a narrative that was different several years ago when the company was largely against mobile gaming. We’re sure that many are familiar with the live-action Super Mario Bros. movie that was launched way back in the day. It is familiar to many not because of how great it was, but how bad it was to the extent that it has become something of a meme these days. However Nintendo will be trying their hand at it again, except in animated form.
Last month it was rumored that Nintendo could be bringing New Super Mario Bros. U to the Nintendo Switch. One of the perks of signing up for Nintendo’s Switch Online subscription service is obviously the ability to play games with other Switch owners online. There are also additional perks where players will gain access to a bunch of classic games, and now it looks like Nintendo is touting those two perks as a way to get users to sign up.
Back in June during E3 2018, Nintendo officially announced Super Mario Party for the Nintendo Switch. Super Mario Party games have become common on Nintendo’s platforms so to see a version launch on the Switch didn’t really come as a surprise. In fact what would be surprising is if Nintendo skipped it entirely.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was one of the titles that launched with the Nintendo Switch, although it should be noted that the game is essentially an upgraded port from the Wii U version of the game. However it all worked out in Nintendo’s favor as fans didn’t really seem to mind. Now it looks like another Wii U port could be on its way.
While the Nintendo Switch is without a doubt Nintendo’s current focus, it does not mean that the company has forgotten about its handheld lineup. For those who are considering getting their hands on a Nintendo handheld, you’ll be pleased to learn that Nintendo has announced a new Electric Blue Nintendo 2DS.
A couple of weeks ago we reported that Nintendo would be launching a playable demo for the upcoming Mario Tennis Aces. This demo would be playable from the 1st to the 3rd of June for Nintendo Switch gamers, giving them a taste of what’s to come. Earlier this year Nintendo announced a new Mario game for the Nintendo Switch in the form of Mario Tennis Aces. Last we heard the game is set for a release on the 22nd of June and the good news is that if you wanted to check out the game before buying it, you’ll be pleased to learn that there will be a playable demo ahead of its release.
