Coby jumps aboard the tablet bandwagon with Kyros

Coby goes all Greek with their latest tablet, the Kyros. This Android 2.1-powered device boasts a 7-inch resistive touchscreen display, and will hook up to your HDTV via HDMI for you to have a go at 1080p videos without missing a beat. The 4GB worth of internal memory might not sound like much, but thankfully Coby’s engineers had the smarts to throw in an SD memory card slot that augments the storage space to a potential 32GB, depending on what kind of SD memory card you decide to pop in. The 800MHz ARM1176 processor isn’t going to win any performance awards though, but at least you get the Aldiko E-Book and AppsLib apps, with the former letting you access thousands of e-books, while the latter allows one to download and browse the AppsLib marketplace. Retailing for $299.99 a pop, the Kyros won’t win any awards anytime soon, but is an alternative to an entry-level tablet.
