Kinect To Only Use A Single-digit Percentage Of The Xbox 360's Processing Power

One of the benefits of using a game console is that you generally won’t have to worry if your hardware is powerful enough to support the current crop of games, unlike PC gaming. That being said, some folks out there do wonder how much processing overhead that the upcoming Kinect will put upon the Xbox 360 console. Alex Kipman, lead software developer for the Kinect, has come out to state that the processor overhead to support the Kinect will be no greater than a “single-digit” percentage, which is a nice dip from the original 10 to 15 percent overhead that was mentioned a while back. Hopefully this means that playing all those motion-sensing Kinect games will be seamless and thoroughly enjoyable.
