Stereoscopic 3D has clearly taken off commercially in a big way this year, what with CES 2010 kicking things off with all the major consumer electronics manufacturers rolling out 3D HDTVs of their own to wow the masses. Of course, the massive success of Avatar at the box office also helped tremendously, and at the close of the year, Rollei jumps aboard the bandwagon with their Power Flex 3D digital camera. This new point-and-shoot device doesn’t look too fancy right out of the box, although the second lens ought to catch your attention from the get go. As for its specifications, expect to get 720p video recording, 5-megapixel still images, and a 2.8-inch LCD display that does pseudo-3D images without the need for glasses – neat! No idea on whether it will arrive Stateside or not, but we do know it will hit Europe next month for €300 a pop. Let us keep our fingers crossed that it will go through the FCC’s doors pretty soon.
