Kingston has introduced its new secure USB flash drives for business and enterprise use in the form of the DataTraveler 4000 and the DataTraveler Vault – Privacy Managed. The DT4000 offers FIPS 140-2 Level 2 mililtary-grade encryption for the entire cryptographic module as opposed to just the security processor. Kingston is planning to bring out a centrally managed version of this drive later this year. The Privacy Managed drive offers the SafeConsole server software from BlockMaster to offer password control, device state management, file audit log and file restrictor options. The DT4000 will be available in capacities from 2GB to 16GB and will be priced from $75 while the Privacy Managed drive will be available in capacities from 2GB to 32GB, though pricing wasn’t mentioned.
