Lenovo has just announced its Classmate+ PC, where this purpose-built notebook was specially designed to improve the learning experience for students who are in grades K-8. Meant to deliver an affordable, child-friendly complete hardware and software solution without breaking the bank, the Classmate+ PC is based on the Intel Learning Series reference design, where one will find it come pre-loaded with the Intel Learning Series software suite. Not only that, you can be sure that the Lenovo Classmate+ notebook was built to last – at least to a certain degree against abuses thanks to a modern design with a rugged ability, full PC functionality and enhanced performance. Hardware specifications include an Intel Atom processor, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, Windows 7 as the operating system of choice, up to a 250GB hard drive or a solid state drive option if your educational institution is feeling rather flush, a 10.1-inch LED backlit display, a 1.3-megapixel camera, multiple USB ports and a 4-in-1 card reader. No idea on pricing, since that greatly depends on the tariffs of different regions.
