Roku intends to enter the retail scene in a big way with its Roku X Dmedia hub, after agreeing to a key deal with Best Buy. This mid-range Roku XD will be available on both retail and online sources, and is also the seminal moment where one of the company’s networked media hubs can now be purchased from stores Stateside without having to go through a forced rebranding. Hardware specifications of the Roku XD include the ability to play 1080p video, with support for 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity, component video out and USB. Not only that, you can either watch Amazon Video, Hulu Plus, Netflix, and live sports including the MLB and NHL. If video’s not your thing, give your eyes a break as you entertain your ears with Internet radio and on-demand content from MOG, MP3tunes, Pandora, and Rdio.
