Kopin has finally rolled out their latest release, the Ruby Module – being a new plug-&-play, digitally interfaced display module that debuted at the Defense, Security, and Sensing 2011 Symposium. Just what does the Ruby Module offer? For starters, this is is a commercial off the shelf full-color SVGA (800 x 600), plug-&-play display module that comes in a compact, low power package.

It is capable of accepting a wide range of digital input standards, where among them include VESA SVGA and VGA 60Hz, and will be able to operate in SVGA and VGA modes with image X-Y shifting capability in order to support accurate sensor alignment. Both military and commercial sectors will be able to take advantage of the Ruby Module, since this is a high-performance display that is perfect for a wide range of product applications.

The whole idea of the new Ruby Module would be to simplify system integration of Kopin’s industry leading display products into non-custom applications. Measuring a mere 25.9 mm x 25.9 mm x 9.4 mm and tipping the scales at less than 6.5 grams, it has been specially sealed so that foreign particles will not be able to enter it, and when coupled with precision mounting features that ensure accurate image alignment, your eyes will definitely love you for it.
