Apple issues statement concerning Foxconn explosion

Foxconn

Earlier this morning, we reported about the explosion at the Foxconn plant in China that killed 2 people and injured 16 more. While the cause of the explosion is still unknown Apple and Foxconn are working together to find out what happened. According to a statement issued by Apple:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragedy at Foxconn’s plant in Chengdu, and our hearts go out to the victims and their families. We are working closely with Foxconn to understand what caused this terrible event.”

Now we all know that Foxconn hasn’t been winning any awards for being “the best place to work at”, and conditions there aren’t close to fantastic. But if the unhappy workers are a sign of anything, it’s that Foxconn really should do something to improve their lives. Stay tuned for more details as the investigation unfolds.
