It goes without saying that the landline is about to go the way of the dodo – and it is nice to see a modern piece of technology like the iPhone bridging the gap between the old and the new. This particular setup that you see here will cost you somewhere in the region of $30, where you can still relive the good old days of holding a receiver in your hand while you carry out a conversation. Basically, your iPhone is the conduit between the past and present, and it is nice to know that you can always check out other apps on the iPhone or look up information even when you’re talking.

Heck, there is also the option to place the person on the other side of the line on speakerphone if you want to. Since this is not an iPhone only device, you can also opt to use your iPod touch with it. How much longer do you think the classic landline phone design is going to hold out – one or two more generations before it ends up as an antique or a forgotten relic?
