Remember when Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai teased us with an upcoming game for the Nintendo 3DS? Well the good news for those who were looking forward to seeing what the three companies had in store for us is that the game has been revealed. It has been dubbed Project X Zone (pronounced as Project Cross Zone) and it is a strategy RPG that will feature characters from the three different gaming companies and their franchises.

If we had to guess, the gameplay could be similar to the Namco X Capcom on the PS2 released a while back, except that this time around Sega will be joining in on the fun. Players will be pick teams that have been preselected and grouped according to their game company. For Capcom, the pairs are: Ryu & Ken (Street Fighter 0), X and Zero (Mega Man), Demitri and Dante (Darkstalkers and Devil May Cry), Chris and Jill (Resident Evil).

Sega’s pairings will be: Shinguji Sakura and Ogami Ichiro (Sakura Wars), Pai and Akira (Virtua Fighter), Kurt and Riela (Valkyria Chronicles), Ulala and Touma (Space Channel 5 and Shining Force EXA), while Namco’s Bandai’s pairings include: Sanger Somvold (Super Robot Wars), Jin and Ling Xiaoyu (Tekken), Kos-Mos and T-elos (Xenosaga), Yurie and Estel (Tales of Vesperia), Kaito and Black Rose (.hack).

It should be noted that the game has yet to be officially revealed and this information was apparently taken from Sinobi ahead of its launch. This means that the details of the game are subject to change assuming that the Famitsu got the details wrong, but until we get the official word, what do you guys think? Are you looking forward to it?
