When Paramount first released the trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, it was met with immediate backlash over the design of the character. This was because the character looked nothing like what fans of the video game franchise knew and loved, which led to the movie being delayed while they reworked the design.
Movies that are based on video games tend to get a bad rep. However, it seems that with the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, it looks like Paramount might have a hit on their hands because according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the movie just broke a record for video game movies where it managed to rake in $68 million over four days.

Sega has announced at the Sega Fes 2019 that it’s going to release a retro version of its Sega Genesis console. It’s going to arrive later this year.
