While Microsoft has yet to officially and fully integrate Skype (currently available in beta form) into Windows Phone, users of the platform will have to turn to alternative services to make their VoIP calls. Viber would be one of them and is an app that has made its way onto iOS and Android devices.

The app for Windows Phone was expected to see a launch early this year, but given that we’re halfway through April, safe to say that they did not make their schedule. Well the good news is that the launch of Viber for Windows Phone is a lot closer than you think. In an email sent by a Windows Phone user to the company inquiring about a possible launch date, the company responded by saying this:

You will be pleased to know that Viber for WP7 is coming very soon. Please stay tuned within the following week. We will be announcing its publication, system req. and more, at that time.

So if Viber is an app you’re really looking forward to, remember to stay tuned and check back with us either this week or next for more details.
