Sure there are toys from Hasbro based on the Transformers franchise. While they do transform from their respective vehicles into robots, sadly the process is not an automated one and neither is it as cool as what we saw in the television series or the movies. Perhaps that might change in the future but thanks to the work of Kenji Ishida at JS Robotics in Japan, that future appears to be a lot closer than we think! Ishida has managed to put together a robot that utilizes 22 servo motors that allows it to transform automatically from a small car into a walking and punching little robot. It’s admittedly one of the coolest transformations we’ve seen to date and while it still lacks a bit of grace in its movements, its transformation process is definitely something to behold.
