If the Sony Xperia ion managed to get your attention, you will be pleased to learn that the affordable handset will be arriving on AT&T come 24th of June and will retail at $99.99 along with a new two-year contract, of course. So what can you expect for your hundred bucks? Well for starters the Xperia ion comes with a rather impressive 12MP rear-facing camera, and is also the first Sony phone in the US that will play nice with AT&T’s recently launched 4G LTE network. Other features includes a 4.6” 720 HD Reality Display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and will come with 16GB of internal storage. The downside is that the phone will be launching with Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead of the highly anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but fret not as the update is expected in the coming months. However apart from that little bump, the rest of the phone’s specs seem solid enough and for a price of $99.99, it does seem like quite a bargain. [Press release]
