Call it funny, an accident, or just plain stupid. But 23-year old Emmanuel Jerome was found guilty when he accidentally recorded himself while raiding a house last month. Jerome, who was eventually caught and captured by cops, allegedly thought he was actually using the flashlight on his iPhone. To his dismay, he was actually recording himself while doing the dirty deed. Jerome reportedly raided three homes including a property in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire where tens of thousands of pounds were stolen.

Bradford Crown Court Judge John Potter said that Jerome is guilty of conspiracy to commit burglary. Jerome pleaded that he was innocent, but thanks to the strong evidence, he was sentenced to 44 weeks in prison. “Significantly, in my view, camera footage of the invasion of that property was captured on your mobile phone,” Judge Potter told Jerome. “You, in my judgement, were an important member of the team that attacked that property on those occasions.”
