Sonic is one of the iconic games of our time, along with Mario and Zelda just to name a few, and it looks like just like the Mario and Zelda series, Sonic has no intentions of fading into quiet obscurity because thanks to new rumors, it seems that SEGA is set to announce a new Sonic game come February! According to the rumors, this particular game has been in development before Sonic Generations which is interesting because supposedly this particular Sonic game will be available on pretty much every platform. This includes the Nintendo Wii U, the Sony PlayStation 3, the Microsoft Xbox 360, the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, the PC and even next-gen consoles.

The game is expected to feature 20 three-act stages, multiple playable characters to choose from and both 2D and 3D levels. A teaser for the game will also be expected to be launched on the 2nd of February, with the full reveal of the game to follow shortly after. Rumors are also suggesting that the game will ultimately be released sometime in September. We suggest taking this with a grain of salt for now, but if you’re a huge fan of the Sonic franchise, be sure to check back with us in the next couple of weeks where hopefully we will have more to share.
