If you are always on the lookout for news of your Android-powered smartphone receiving the latest version of the Android operating system, then it is time for folks who rock on to the LG Optimus 4X HD, LG Optimus L9 and LG Optimus L7 to perform a little jig upon hearing this news. It seems that the awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will be making its way to those devices sometime in the first half of this year, based on a roughly translated Chinese page.

It is rather unfortunate that no further information on the situation has been shared, and LG has had a rather poor track record when it comes to updating their smartphones to the latest version of the Android operating system. Still, the adage of “better late than never” holds true here, and if you are one who likes to view the glass as half full, why not see it as better this year than in 2014, when most probably Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie would have been announced for half a year already by then at the very minimum?
