It looks like come 21st of February, Nikon will be holding a press event in Thailand. The company has been sending out invites (via ThaiDPhoto) although they did not specify what exactly it is that they would be announcing. Nikon Rumors has suggested that Thursday seems like an odd day for Nikon to be announcing new products, but they have also speculated that it could be where Nikon announces the Nikon D7000’s replacement. For those who have been following photography-related news, you might recall that back in August of 2012, the D7000 had been listed as discontinued, and at the same time there have been rumors that said that the D7000’s successor could be seeing an announcement before April of 2013, making this event a pretty good candidate. Either way there’s not much to go on, but if you were a fan of the D7000 and want to see what its successor will bring to the table, check back with us on the 21st of February to see if there are any announcements to be had.
