Website Used To Hack Apple And Facebook Found

Yesterday we reported that Apple has been the target of Hackers. Apple claimed that the source of the hack was the same as used to hack Facebook. The malware used in both these cases came from a popular forum of iPhone developers called iPhoneDevSDK.

Ian Sefferman, co-founder of the forum explained how his site was used to send out malware” What we’ve learned is that it appears a single administrator account was compromised. The hackers used this account to modify our theme and inject JavaScript into our site. That JavaScript appears to have used a sophisticated, previously unknown exploit to hack into certain user’s computers. We’re still trying to determine the exploit’s exact timeline and details, but it appears as though it was ended (by the hacker) on January 30, 2013.” Said Ian Sefferman. He also said that his team has patched the security hole and that his site is clean and safe to visit and that data from his site was not compromised.

iPhoneDevSDK admin team claimed they had no knowledge of the breach and that they were not even contacted by Apple or any other company. They learnt about the situation, when they read it in the press. The site admins have also reset the passwords of all its users as a precautionary method.
