Huawei logoAt this point in time, the Samsung Galaxy S4 can be considered one of the phones to beat, at least that would be the perspective from Samsung’s competitors, and if the rumors are right, Huawei might not be taking it lying down. According to a fresh set of rumors, Huawei is said to be working on a new flagship device that will sport a whopping 4.9” Full HD 1080p display that could rival Samsung’s own. While the device has yet to be named, rumored specs include a quad-core 1.8GHz K3V3 Cortex-A15 chipset, a Mali T604 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP camera and a 2,600mAh battery. To top it all off, Huawei is said to be squeezing all of this power into a device that measures an impressive 6.3mm thin.

Assuming that these specs are true, Huawei could be creating a device worthy of the smartphones of 2013, namely the HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, and of course how could we forget, the Samsung Galaxy S4. The question here is will Huawei be able to convince customers to go for their brand instead of the competition? While we have to wait and see if that happens, the rumors are saying that this new flagship phone could be announced in April, which lines up nicely with Samsung’s Galaxy S4 release plans. We’ll keep an eye on this but what do you guys think?
