ps4-gamestop-preorderWhile Microsoft’s Xbox One console announcement might have been well-received by some, many comments on the internet have suggested that there are quite a few people out there who aren’t too happy with some of the console’s features, particularly how it approaches used games which is a pretty big market on its own, although we guess developers and publishers aren’t necessarily receiving their cut. To that end while Sony has yet to share details on the PS4 and how they might approach the used games market and DRMs, it seems that there has been a huge Twitter movement in which thousands of gamers are attempting to persuade Sony to leave used games alone with regards to the PS4.

The movement originally started on the NeoGAF forums with the intention being that the PS4 should not take the same route as the Xbox One. Gamers are also asking Sony to make the PS4 region-free, much like the PS3 and the opposite of the Xbox One, and to have free online play. Of course we’re not sure how seriously Sony will be taking these requests, but considering that the Xbox is probably Sony’s biggest competitor in the console space, and the fact that Sony had claimed that they never once considered the always-on mode, we wouldn’t be surprised if they end up taking a few requests.
