xperia-s-jb-deThe Internet was all a-flutter just sometime at the end of last week, especially when the folks over at Sony Mobile France’s social team sent out word that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Sony Xperia S (also known as the LT26i) was due to be introduced. Needless to say, the weekend came and went, and nothing came out of the entire experience, as there was no mention by anybody that he or she has already downloaded and applied the latest update.

It is interesting to note then that the Sony Mobile Germany social team has stepped forward to confirm that their colleagues over in France made a faux pas (sorry, I could not resist that) concerning the release of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia S – which means that it has not begun just yet. Obviously, this bit of news will be disappointing to certain quarters, but at the very least it allows everyone to stop all sorts of speculation and wait for an official confirmation. We are keeping our fingers crossed that there need not be any more wait on the matter, at least not for months to come.
