Select_b.104-copy-660x436We’ve all heard the stories and read the reports where it has been suggested that the radiation given off by our phones is harmful for our brains. We’ve also come across reports which has suggested that the radiation emitted from our phones is not strong enough to be harmful, but either way if you’d like to stay on the safe side, the folks at Pong and Ideo have teamed up to create a smartphone case called the Gold Reveal. Pong, for those unfamiliar, is a maker of smartphone cases, while Ideo is a design company. The goal behind this project was to create a phone case that would protect the user from the alleged harmful radiation given off by phones, while keeping the design of the case something you’d be proud to take with you on the streets.

The Gold Reveal case, which you can see in the image above, is a pretty sleek case and does not look bulky or dorky as most protective cases tend to look. It also comes with a built-in golden-hued antenna which when paired with the phone’s antenna, is able to draw the radiation away from the front of the phone, to the back, so that the radiation waves will not be directed at your brain whilst you’re on the phone. It’s a pretty cool idea which supposedly works, not to mention looks good too, so if you’re interested in picking one up for yourself, it is available via Pong’s website and will be compatible with a variety of devices, although pricing may vary.
