Over the past couple of months we have seen alleged specs and photos of the upcoming Sony Xperia i1, or Honami, with one particular photo seemingly confirming the fact that the Honami could come with a 20MP camera. Well thanks to a recently uploaded photo allegedly taken by the device, it seems that a camera with a 20MP sensor can be confirmed. While the photo’s EXIF data does not explicitly name the Honami, it shows the device’s model number to be that of the C6902 which is supposedly that of the non-LTE version of the phone. The EXIF data reveals the phone’s 20.65MP camera in 4:3 mode along with a aperture of f/2.0.
While Sony has yet to confirm the Honami, a recently leaked image has suggested that just like Samsung, Sony could be holding an event a few days prior to IFA 2013 to announce the device, which according to the image points at a 4th of September announcement. The Honami is also expected to be somewhat similar to the Xperia Z, albeit with an upgraded camera. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more news, so check back with us at a later date for the details.
