Well, it seems that gamers of the original have been clamoring for a sequel for the longest time, and Plants vs Zombies 2 was released by EA on the iOS platform as an exclusive title recently, only to see it achieve a new record – surpassing the 16 million downloads mark, propelling it to the top spot on the App Store across 137 countries throughout the world.

This would also make it the most successful mobile game launch in EA’s history, where the day one downloads nearly doubled EA’s previous mobile record. Here are some more trivia for fans of the new sequel, where more than 11 billion suns were generated, over 2 billion zombie waves happened, with more than 4 billion plants planted, and 25 million hours clocked up by us humans trying to preserve our brains from them zombies.
