Lenovo turned heads recently when they announced their Yoga Tablet, which are two Android 4.2.2 tablets that come with large capacity batteries that hope to extend their use past what we would consider would be an acceptable amount of battery life. It looks like that wasn’t the only big bit of news Lenovo had up its sleeve as apparently they hired Ashton Kutcher to be the company’s latest product engineer as well as their celebrity pitchman.
Before you go thinking this is another Alicia Keys moment, Kutcher is certainly qualified for the role as he studied biochemical engineering at the University of Iowa and has a proven track record of tech investments. One of his main focuses will be to offer Lenovo advice on the design and the software of the company’s Yoga tablets. The financial terms of the multi-year partnership were not disclosed.
“This partnership goes beyond traditional bounds by deeply integrating him into our organization as a product engineer,” said David Roman, chief marketing officer at Lenovo. “Ashton will help us break new ground by challenging assumptions, bringing new perspective and contributing his technical expertise to Yoga Tablet and other devices.”
Considering how forward thinking their newly announced Yoga Tablet is, we wouldn’t be surprised of Kutcher had any influence in its design.
