Toshiba unveiled a number of new 10.1 tablets earlier this year with the Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write and it looks like the company is heading back into the 7-inch tablet market with their newly-announced Excite 7.

The Toshiba Excite 7 is the company’s latest 7-inch tablet that will run on Android 4.2.2, weighing it at only 12.4 ounces. The Excite 7 features a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display, quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 3MP main camera, 0.3MP front-facing camera and is expected to last up to 12 hours of general usage or up to 7.5 hours of video playback. The Excite 7 also features stereo speakers that have been enhanced with SRS audio to offer a better audio experience and comes with microUSB and microSD support, although Toshiba’s press release sent out today doesn’t specify just how much internal storage the Excite 7 comes with.

The Toshiba Excite 7 is available today for $169.99 across several online retailers such as Amazon as well as through Toshiba’s website. Toshiba’s latest 7-inch tablet certainly sounds like a bargain at that price, although we’d certainly be curious to see just how much storage the Excite 7 has considering the company didn’t make any mention of it in the press release. If we were betting folk, we’d say you should expect around 8GB of internal storage for something like this.
