sprint-moto-x-android-4.4.2

Android 4.4 KitKat update might have arrived in record time for the Moto X back when it was first released, but Motorola’s flagship smartphone was overshadowed by its younger sibling which became the first of the company’s mobile devices to receive the Android 4.4.2 update. Since then many Moto X owners have wondered aloud when they’ll get the update on their device as well. Recently one Verizon Moto X owner received the update on their device, and now it has popped up on a Sprint subscriber’s Moto X.

When the Verizon subscriber received the update, it wasn’t during the course of a staged roll out or even a soak test. Verizon didn’t follow it up with a public release or a soak test at a larger scale. Similar behaviour has been noticed by a Sprint subscriber, who seems to be the only one to have received Android 4.4.2 update for Moto X, which bumps build number to 161.44.22 from 143.44.8 found on the Android 4.4 update. The Android 4.4.2 update for Sprint Moto X brings new versions of the Camera, Migrate and Assist applications, .APKs of which are already available online. Motorola is yet to confirm when Android 4.4.2 for Moto X is going to be launched, so we’ll have to wait until official word comes in.
