D-Link has made a new addition to its family of Cloud Cameras that allow home and small business owners to keep an eye on their property even if they’re thousands of miles away. They can simply tap into the camera using a smartphone, tablet or PC, even if they do so using a 3G or 4G connection, Wi-Fi would obviously work as well. Today the new D-Link Outdoor HD Cloud Camera (DCS-2330L) has started shipping, its an outdoor ready IP surveillance solution capable of operating in a -13°F to 113°F operating temperature range, thanks to its IP65 weatherproof shell.

Offering 720p HD video quality as well as night vision for viewing up to 15 feet even if its completely dark, the camera also features advanced motion sensing technology and can send users instant email alerts if there are changes to the camera’s environment. Using the free mobile app, users can access the camera’s feed from anywhere in the world. Its actually quite similar to the Samsung SmartCam HD outdoor Wi-Fi camera we saw back at CES 2014, that particular camera eliminates the need for conventional power source and opts for power over Ethernet instead, which makes the outdoor camera much smaller as there are no antennas sticking out and also improves reception. D-Link Outdoor HD Cloud Camera is available now at Best Buy as well as other retail outlets for $179.99.
